Advocating for the people of Uptown

Molly (Mary Anne) Phelan is an independent, common-sense attorney with a passion and commitment to her community. As a leader in the 46th Ward, Molly has devoted herself to ensuring the residents get a voice.

Molly Phelan is not a politician, she is a community activist. Molly has worked tirelessly with the area watchdog groups, such as Stop Labor Ready and Fix Wilson Yard. Molly believes the office of the 46th Ward Alderman should work for everybody – not just the powerful and politically connected.

Molly is a strong advocate for the community. She serves on the Boards of Uptown Chicago Commission as well as Buena Park Neighbors. Both organizations strive to improve the quality of life for the residents of the 46th Ward. Molly has also been an active participant in the CAPS (Chicago Alternative Policing Strategy) program, focusing on promoting community involvement and increasing public safety.

Molly was born and raised in the Chicagoland area. She earned her bachelor’s degree at the University of Notre Dame and her JD from the University of Loyola Chicago School of Law. She has happily called the 46th Ward home since 2005.
